Facilities

Facilities at Bangour Trout Fishery include a new fishing lodge which has been built with full disabled facilities (special waterside parking, 2 wheelchair platforms) and a lounge/ washroom for the fisherman to relax and enjoy their lunch. A good selection of flies are available as well as Airflo rods and tackle for sale. Buffet meals can be arranged for corporate events (booked in advance). Tea, coffee, soft drinks, crisps, sweets, etc, all for sale.

The platforms and walkways have been removed and replaced (there are now 28 platforms and the dam bank, which allows around 33 spaces at a time, with 28 anglers the maximum, to allow movement between platforms), and the bankings have been cleared.

There is an office for permit sales and fishing tackle. New car parks have also been added.

The reservoir totals 12.5 acres of which around 7 acres are netted off and kept weed free. The reservoir has a good head of fish which includes wild brown trout which breed freely at the autumn. There are a number of large carp which were introduced in 1964 at around 1 1/2 ib which are now in the high twenties and can be seen cruising in the summer months. The reservoir is stocked weekly with rainbows,(minimum stock size 2lb) blues, goldens and tigers.

Opening Times

Fishery opening times for the month of April 2016 is 9am-7.30pm Sunday to Friday and 9am-5pm on Saturday

Bangour Trout Fishery is fully open from march until the end of november
9am till 5pm march, april, may, till dusk from june until the end of september,then back to 5pm october,november, saturdays all year we close at 5pm. Please see our Facebook page and news page for seasonal opening times.
